Basketball Recap: Strawberry Mansion Comes Up Short

Strawberry Mansion was the 34-29 winner over Martin Luther King when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights were beaten by the Cougars 63-20 on Thursday.

Martin Luther King's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Duckett, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Duckett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaheam Burton, who earned 12 points.

Strawberry Mansion's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Martin Luther King, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Strawberry Mansion will take on Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin Luther King, they will head out on the road to take on Franklin Towne at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
