Football Recap: Harding University Rams vs. Chambers Cougars
Friday just wasn't the day for Harding University's offense. They had to suffer through a 53-0 loss at the hands of the Chambers Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Cougars are ranked 92nd).
Zierre Brooks was his usual excellent self, rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown for Chambers. Maki Gant was in the mix too, providing Chambers with a touchdown.
Harding University is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Chambers, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding University will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mallard Creek at 7:00 p.m. Mallard Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Harding University surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chambers, they will head out to face off against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
