Recap: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 59-36 margin over Rock Hill. That looming 59-36 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fort Mill yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than AJ Washington, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Washington has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Kishawn Anderson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and four steals.
Collin Mckellar and Malik Ashe certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Mckellar scored five points along with two steals, while Ashe scored eight points.
Fort Mill is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Rock Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Fort Mill will head out on the road to face off against Spring Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Spring Valley is ranked 31st, while Fort Mill is ranked 21st). As for Rock Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Nation Ford at 8:00 p.m. Nation Ford is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
