Softball Recap: Ritchie County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with St. Marys

Ritchie County faced St. Marys in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rebels took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rebels couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ritchie County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbigayl Cox, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Cox also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Ritchie County moved to 9-2-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for St. Marys, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.
