While Sandia Prep might've come up empty on Saturday, Matteo Herrera wasn't going down without a fight. Herrera tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The effort marked the fewest earned runs he has had over his last three games.

Even though Herrera couldn't lead Sandia Prep over Ruidoso, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sadly, Herrera's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Sundevils' five-game streak of wins on the road.
