Baseball Recap: Sanford Gets the Win

While Sanford put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Thornton Academy. The Spartans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Trojans since June 7, 2017.

The result came thanks to Brady Adams's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sanford is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Sanford saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Scott Robitaille Jr, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Sanford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Thornton Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sanford will square off against Massabesic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thornton Academy, they will challenge Noble at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
