Basketball Recap: Gloucester Catholic Takes a Loss

Gloucester Catholic was the 64-41 winner over Salem when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gloucester Catholic Rams lost 72-47 to the Salem Rams on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Gloucester Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Salem is ranked 132nd).

Gloucester Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Salem, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Gloucester Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-59 defeat against Wildwood on the 16th. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to take on Lenape at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lenape knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Salem likes a good challenge.
