East Wake extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They fell 72-61 to the Northern Nash Knights. On the bright side, the 61- point effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, East Wake still got an impressive performance from Caden Midgette, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Cam Boone, who scored 12 points.

As for Northern Nash, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while East Wake is ranked 440th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northern Nash's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quantay James led the charge by going 8-for-11 to rack up 19 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, James now owns an excellent 49.1% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Jah'Marzea Williams, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

East Wake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-48 defeat against Fike on the 10th. As for Northern Nash, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-62 victory against Nash Central on the 9th.
