Football Recap: Mission Bears vs. Irvington Vikings
Mission couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Irvington Vikings 50-0 on Saturday. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 defeats in a row dating back to last season.
Irvington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Perez, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Another receiver making a difference was Ethan Insixiengmay, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory made it two in a row for Irvington and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
