Basketball Recap: International School of Boston vs. Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts
International School of Boston had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 70-53 fall against the Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts on Wednesday. International School of Boston was not able to make up for their defeat to Marie Philip from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marie Philip to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Marie Philip's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Riebe, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 20 points along with six assists and six boards.
Marie Philip pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
International School of Boston will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marie Philip at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Marie Philip, they will challenge Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
