Basketball Recap: Lowell Gets the Win

Munster came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Lowell, but Brooke Dawson wouldn't allow it. The Red Devils walked away with a 50-39 win over the Mustangs on Friday thanks in part to Dawson, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 17 points and five steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Josephine Laub, who posted seven points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Munster's loss came despite strong showings from Arroya Mongerie and Amelia Ramirez. Mongerie put up nine points and eight boards, while Ramirez had ten points. Ramirez is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games she's played. Kenley Smith was another key player, putting up six points.

Lowell's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Munster, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Lowell will be home for the holidays to greet Kouts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs & Fillies have averaged an impressive 56.5 points per game this season. As for Munster, they will welcome Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
