Soccer Game Preview: Cinco Ranch vs. Tompkins

The Cinco Ranch Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Tompkins Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cinco Ranch's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cinco Ranch challenged Paetow on Thursday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Cinco Ranch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Paetow are ranked 97th).

Cinco Ranch's goal came courtesy of Miguel Avila, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Tompkins kept a clean sheet against Morton Ranch on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mavericks, sneaking past 1-0.

Cinco Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-2. As for Tompkins, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-0-2 and their overall record up to 4-2-3.

Cinco Ranch might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Tompkins in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
