Recap: Enfield Eagles vs. Edwin O. Smith Panthers
The Enfield Eagles lost against the Edwin O. Smith Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Enfield falling 49-35. They have struggled against Edwin O. Smith recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Enfield's loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Marshall and Kendall Coffey. Marshall scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks, while Coffey scored six points. The game was Marshall's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Taylor Gochee was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Enfield were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Edwin O. Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enfield will take on RHAM at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. RHAM will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Enfield is ranked 45th). As for Edwin O. Smith, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Windsor at 6:45 p.m. Windsor and Edwin O. Smith are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
