The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will challenge the Chula Vista Spartans at 10:30  a.m.  on Saturday. Canyon Crest Academy has given up an average of 6.8  runs per game this season, but Saturday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Canyon Crest Academy is headed into Saturday's   matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game  on Friday. They came up short against  Ramona, falling  14-4.
 Canyon Crest Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ian Kwon, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI.  Henry Schmidt was another,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Chula Vista got themselves on the board against Castle Park on Thursday, but Castle Park never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp  10-0 win. The  victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.
 Jose De La Cruz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Gabriel Mendoza was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Pablo Alvarado, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double.
 Chula Vista was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Canyon Crest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-15-1. As for Chula Vista, their win bumped their record up to 12-8-2.
