Basketball Recap: Grant Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Grant walked away with it. They snuck past the Dorsey Dons with a 76-71 win on Thursday. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dons, too.

RONALD MERRILL was his usual excellent self, to rack up 33 points and five boards. Grant is 8-4 when MERRILL posts 20 or more points, but 7-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Isreal Mullings, who on his way to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Grant has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. Dorsey's loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Grant has already played their next contest, a 69-52 victory against El Camino Real on the 22nd. Dorsey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
