Baseball Recap: Highland Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lancaster, Highland was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Riverdale Chieftains. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Riverdale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Highland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chieftains: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
