Basketball Game Preview: Spirit Lake Indians vs. Worthington Trojans

The Spirit Lake Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Worthington Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Spirit Lake beat Cherokee Washington 68-64.

Meanwhile, Worthington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt an 82-55 defeat at the hands of Waseca. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Bluejays are ranked ninth).

Spirit Lake's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Worthington, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Everything went Spirit Lake's way against Worthington in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Spirit Lake made off with a 79-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spirit Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
