Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Denison Yellow Jackets

Anna has won three straight games at home, while Denison has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Anna Coyotes will welcome the Denison Yellow Jackets at 2:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Anna ended up a good deal behind Walnut Grove and lost 60-46. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Wildcats are ranked 53rd).

Despite the defeat, Anna got top-tier performance from Lamin Foon, who went 10 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance also gave Foon a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Cj Jackson Iv, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Denison hadn't done well against Sherman recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Denison walked away with a 59-48 victory over Sherman.

Anna has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Denison, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Anna beat Denison 70-57 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Anna repeat their success, or does Denison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
