Slideshow: Bishop Gorman cruises to Sollenberger Classic victory

The Gaels kick off 2014 season with a convincing win over Brophy College Prep on Friday.

LAS VEGAS - The Bishop Gorman football team wasted little time on Friday night in demonstrating why its ranked among the top teams in the nation this season.

The Gaels are loaded with outstanding talent on both sides of the ball and showcased it during a 44-0 victory over  visiting Brophy College Prep (Phoenix) in the ninth annual Sollenberger Classic at Fertitta Field. Bishop Gorman held a commanding 30-0 lead at halftime.

Russell Booze, Jonathan Shumaker and Biaggio Walsh combined for 192 yards rushing and five touchdowns, while the defense allowed a scant 150 yards.
