Football Game Preview: Niskayuna Silver Warriors vs. Ballston Spa Scotties

The Niskayuna Silver Warriors will welcome the Ballston Spa Scotties at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Niskayuna knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Ballston Spa likes a good challenge.

Niskayuna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Glens Falls 55-8. The victory continues a trend for the Silver Warriors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Niskayuna's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Meisner, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only eight carries. Meisner also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending one pass. Joey DiPiazza was in the mix as well, providing Niskayuna with two TDs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ballston Spa). They really took it to Amsterdam for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-12 victory. The Scotties pushed the score to 37-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams had little chance of recovering from.

Niskayuna's record is now 8-1. As for Ballston Spa, their record now sits at 6-3.

Niskayuna was able to grind out a solid win over Ballston Spa in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 37-24. Do the Silver Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scotties turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
