Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Holy Cross

Holy Cross's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Sunday. They came out on top against the Beechwood Tigers by a score of 8-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Evie Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Suzette Klaiss, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Urlage, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Holy Cross' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Beechwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

As of now, neither Holy Cross nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
