Bulldogs win fifth state title since 2008.

Carthage won its fifth Texas state title since 2008 on Friday night at AT&T Stadium, beating Wylie (Abilene) 31-17 in the Class 4A Division I title game.

Running back Keaontay Ingram carried 28 times for 180 yards and two scores as the Bulldogs overcame a 14-0 first quarter deficit. The junior also caught three passes for 23 yards.

Carthage (14-2) quarterback Kason Davis completed 12 of 21 pass attempts for 134 yards and a score.



Wylie (12-2) raced to a 14-0 lead just six minutes into the contest but turned the ball over six times after that – including four interceptions in the second half.
