Baseball Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. South Stokes Sauras

The South Davidson Wildcats will take on the South Stokes Sauras at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Davidson will be strutting in after a victory while South Stokes will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, South Davidson got the win against Albemarle by a conclusive 16-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dallas Mantz made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Mantz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Myles Scercy was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zander Floyd was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, South Stokes lost 16-4 to Chatham Charter on Saturday.

South Stokes saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Bailey, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Stokes now has a losing record of 1-2. As for South Davidson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
