Softball Game Preview: Narragansett Regional Warriors vs. Maynard Tigers

The Narragansett Regional Warriors will head out to face off against the Maynard Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Narragansett Regional's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

Narragansett Regional had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Murdock on Thursday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Blue Devils. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Maynard hadn't done well against Tahanto Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Tigers skirted past the Stags 7-6.

Jillian Macfarlane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Calleigh Currier, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Carroll, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Narragansett Regional's record is now 3-0. As for Maynard, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Narragansett Regional took their victory against Maynard in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
