Softball Recap: Sherando Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sherando posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Strasburg Rams 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Jessie Kaiser looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makayla Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kayla Grum also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The victory got Sherando back to even at 3-3. As for Strasburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherando will venture away from home to face off against Kettle Run at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sherando's pitchers better be ready for this one: Kettle Run has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Strasburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Defiance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
