Wasatch was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pocatello on Saturday. The Wasatch Wasps were the clear victor by a 14-5 margin over the Pocatello Thunder. Considering the Wasps have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Braxton Faller made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Wasatch's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Blake Sweat was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Kyren Stocking was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Wasatch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pocatello only posted an OBP of .320.

Coming up, Wasatch will face off against West Jordan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wasatch knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six games -- so hopefully West Jordan likes a good challenge. As for Pocatello, they will take on Caldwell in a tournament on Thursday. Pocatello will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
