Basketball Recap: Calumet Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Calumet had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Jeffers Jets by a score of 53-40. This was payback for the Copper Kings, who suffered a 64-15 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Calumet has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Jeffers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calumet will head out to take on Negaunee at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Negaunee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Calumet likes a good challenge. As for Jeffers, they will venture away from home to challenge Ontonagon at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
