Baseball Recap: Junction City Takes a Loss

Junction City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs.

Kaden Shafer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Josh Berry, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Junction City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Junction City will face off against Henley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, they will square off against Oakridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
