Football Game Preview: Coventry Christian vs. Girard College Cavaliers

Coventry Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Girard College Cavaliers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coventry Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Saturday, Coventry Christian took their matchup with ease, bagging a 38-6 win over Kennedy Catholic. Fans of Coventry Christian have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Luke Hunter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 171 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes.

Coventry Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Christian Brown was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Girard College played against Delaware County Christian on Saturday and lost via forfeit.

Girard College's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Coventry Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Coventry Christian against Girard College when the teams last played back in September, as the team secured a 54-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coventry Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
