Volleyball Recap: Penn's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against NorthWood on Tuesday, Penn came back down to earth. The Kingsmen fell 3-1 to the Chesterton Trojans on Thursday. The Kingsmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Chesterton scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Loss or not, Penn got some senior leadership from Montana Swartz and Abby Lane. Swartz had ten digs and four aces, while Lane had 13 digs. Swartz is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Penn fell to 3-1. As for Chesterton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Penn will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chesterton, they will host Andrean at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
