The Lake Howell Silverhawks will square off against the Oviedo Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Lake Howell's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Oviedo has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Lake Howell gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Lake Mary with a sharp 12-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Silverhawks, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Julianna Terito was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Gianna Terito was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Lake Howell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mary only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oviedo). They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lyman 12-11. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Oviedo got a big performance out of Addi Prewitt, who scored a run while going 1-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Madden, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
Lake Howell is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Oviedo, their victory bumped their record up to 2-16.
Oviedo's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Lake Howell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Oviedo, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Lake Howell keep running through batters, or will the Lions buck the trend?
Lake Howell took their win against Oviedo in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Silverhawks repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
