Two dominant guards in Kendall Proffitt and Shelby Gaines are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Johns Country Day Spartans will be playing at home against the Bishop Snyder Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Johns Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.

St. Johns Country Day's tournament run continued when they took on Whitefield Academy on Tuesday. The Spartans took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the WolfPack. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, St. Johns Country Day had strong showings from Ashantii Williams, who posted five points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals, and Madi Dorsey, who earned six points along with seven boards and five assists. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Snyder). Everything went their way against Boca Raton on Wednesday as they made off with a 53-33 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

Bishop Snyder's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for St. Johns Country Day, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

St. Johns Country Day took their victory against Bishop Snyder in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 57-37 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
