Softball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Grace Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Halls, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Brooke Million was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Malone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Hayden Hill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Grace Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Halls, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 27-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will head out to face off against Christian Academy of Knoxville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Halls, they will venture away from home to square off against Gibbs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
