Softball Game Preview: Meridian Trojans vs. Sultan Turks

The Meridian Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Sultan Turks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Oak Harbor hit Meridian with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans lost 10-0 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Sultan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Cedarcrest, falling 11-0.

Meridian dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Sultan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Meridian's way against Sultan when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Meridian made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
