While Stroudsburg was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-14, 27-25.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley entered their tilt with East Stroudsburg North on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Timberwolves with a sharp 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-7.
Stroudsburg better focus on containing Kira Hnat and Emmerson DeLuna as the pair were huge in Pleasant Valley's win. Hnat had 31 assists and ten digs, while DeLuna had 11 digs and two aces. Hnat is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Pleasant Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.
Stroudsburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's matchup: Stroudsburg has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6 aces per game. However, it's not like Pleasant Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
