Waxahachie had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Midway Panthers 44-7. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Indians just coasted through the last quarter.

A big part of Waxahachie's win came down to the chemistry between Jerry Meyer Iii and his top target Kohen Brown. Meyer Iii threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns while Brown gained 78 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in rushing yards (27). Micah Cook also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.

Waxahachie didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Cook led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Another thorn in Midway's side was Carmelo Clawson, who made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

The victory (which was Waxahachie's sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Waxahachie will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against North Forney at 2:30 p.m. Both might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 922 yards in their previous games. Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
