Xaverian is 8-2 against Kennedy Catholic since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Clippers will take on the Gaels at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Xaverian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Xavier just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Clippers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Knights are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 54-14 defeat at the hands of St. Francis Prep. The Gaels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.

Xaverian will have to keep a close watch on Austin Lanara and KJ Dillon, a pair of players who had a big impact on Kennedy Catholic's prior game. Lanara picked up 99 receiving yards and one TD, while Dillon threw for 110 yards and one touchdown on only eight passes. Lanara's longest reception was for an incredible 99 yards.

Xaverian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Kennedy Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Xaverian took their victory against Kennedy Catholic in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 31-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
