Softball Recap: Southwick Regional Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Southwick Regional gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Palmer Panthers by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in April.

Brooke Comee was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bri-Anna Gilday, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southwick Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Southwick Regional's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Palmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Southwick Regional didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Holyoke on the 20th. As for Palmer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-13 win against Commerce on the 20th.
