The York Falcons will square off against the Smithfield Packers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. York is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

York easily dispatched Tabb on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Falcons fell just short of Gloucester by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Maddy Wintermantel and Ella Thurman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wintermantel got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Thurman went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Grafton hit Smithfield with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Packers came up short against the Clippers, falling 11-1.

Smithfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Saunders, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. York has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Smithfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went York's way against Smithfield in their previous meeting back in April, as York made off with an 18-7 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Packers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
