Dynamic duo of Charlotte Scherbel and Vanessa Anaafi lead Murray to victory

Recap: Murray Spartans vs. Stansbury Stallions

The Murray Spartans won the last time they faced the Stansbury Stallions, and things went their way on Thursday too. Murray came out on top against Stansbury by a score of 55-46.

Leading Murray to victory were Charlotte Scherbel and Vanessa Anaafi. Scherbel scored 16 points, while Anaafi scored 11 points along with four steals. Akur Daniel was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Stansbury's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Jensen and Bryn Leigh Jones. Jensen scored 23 points along with five rebounds, while Jones dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jensen has scored all season.

Murray's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Stansbury, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-13.

Murray will take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray is facing Tooele at the right time seeing as Tooele is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Stansbury, they will head out on the road to challenge Park City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Stansbury is ranked 108th, while Park City is ranked 123rd).
