Basketball Recap: Clayton Comes Up Short

Clayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 67-53 fall against the Cleveland Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-29 last Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Clayton still got an impressive performance from Y'Zana Lee Randle, who posted 15 points. Lee Randle's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Martina Paz-Aquino was a one-woman wrecking crew for Cleveland as she dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Paz-Aquino has become a key player for Cleveland: the team is 7-3 when she posts at least ten boards, but 4-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Cannon, who earned 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Clayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cleveland, they will take on Willow Spring at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
