Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Stewarts Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Wilson Central Wildcats 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Red Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Preston Stewart looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Stewarts Creek's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Micah Raybon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Another was Tyler Huskey, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Stewarts Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Wilson Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Stewarts Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Wilson Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
