Basketball Recap: Dover Takes a Loss

Dover was the 51-49 winner over Parkersburg South when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dover Crimson Tornadoes fell just short of the Parkersburg South Patriots by a score of 50-47 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Crimson Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 213th in Ohio, while the Patriots are ranked 14th in West Virginia).

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Parkersburg South, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover and Lexington will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Lexington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Dover likes a good challenge. Parkersburg South has already played their next game (against Linsly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
