Recap: Montezuma-Cortez Panthers vs. Eaton Reds
Montezuma-Cortez's 22-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell victim to a tough 17-3 defeat at the hands of the Eaton Reds on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Montezuma-Cortez of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Montezuma-Cortez saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Likes, who went 1-for-1 with an RBI.
On Eaton's side, Mitch Haythorn and Garrett Garrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Haythorn didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
