Soccer Game Preview: Naperville North vs. Plainfield East

The Naperville North Huskies will challenge the Plainfield East Bengals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Naperville North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Neuqua Valley, who was ranked ninth at the time (Naperville North was ranked 16th). The Huskies fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Naperville North couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Plainfield East made easy work of Bolingbrook on Tuesday and carried off a 5-1 win. It was an even better day for Kessiah Purnell as she scored three goals for her team.

The victory made it two in a row for Plainfield East and bumps their season record up to 9-9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two games. As for Naperville North, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5-3.
