Softball Recap: Rancho Cotate Wins Going Away Against Analy

Rancho Cotate had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Analy on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-5 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jessica Wilmes was incredible, going 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily Alvis was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Rancho Cotate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rancho Cotate's record now sits at 9-12. As for Analy, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Rancho Cotate will challenge Cardinal Newman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Analy, they will host Maria Carrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pumas have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.95 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
