Softball Recap: Sherando Starts Season with Loss at Home

Sherando unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Strasburg Rams by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since May 1, 2024.

Madalyn Cox was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendra Chunta, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Coming up, Sherando will venture away from home to take on Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give Sherando their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Strasburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against James Wood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Strasburg has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
