Basketball Recap: Kaleb Friebe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fayette over Macon

Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 60-45 bruising from the Macon Tigers.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaleb Friebe, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Alexander, who posted eight points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Fayette was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Macon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayette will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pilot Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Macon will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Mexico at 8:00 p.m. on January 21st.
