Baseball Recap: Ashdown Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ashdown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Taylor Tigers on Thursday.

Ashdown got a big performance out of Gunnar Altenbaumer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Walt Jones, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Ashdown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Ashdown pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Taylor, with the loss, they broke their 18-game winning streak and moved their record to 1-1.
