Dakota Valley took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against West Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Trojans 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since June 1, 2024.

Dakota Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for West Central, their loss ended a 20-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-2.
